SHIMADAAAAAAAAAAA

Aaaaaaaah truly he’s my favorite character. So glad to have been spoiled with so many chapter from his POV.

Thank you to the scanlators for the beautiful work as always, the introspective monologues are always so easy to read while remaining wonderfully atmospheric ^^ Not to mention the way the sound effects are so perfectly done, ahh the redraws are so crisp and seamless even though they’ve gotta be a pain!! Thanks for your hard work, it’s truly appreciated!!!!

That would be around the end of chapter 16 when she first appears "physically"

Love stuff about Shimada's hometown resurfacing at this moment, those were some of the most moving parts of the series for me. I wish him the best, but I feel like he's throwing up so many "lose flags" at this point. Going for the killing blow right when Kiriyama feels like he's freed up his position? That seems like a bad combination for our guy...

I agree, but remember Shimida has a time penalty for being late. He's probably running out of time to win.

Good point, I do think that will have to pay some sort of role... at the same time, I'd be sad if Shimada just lost due to time, it wouldn't feel as satisfying for Kiriyama.

There was a photo from the recent chess world championship where Ivanchuk and Naroditsky were clutching their heads in shame because Ivanchuk had lost due to running out the clock despite being in the winning position. I don't think most pros ever feel good by winning on time.
