Realistically Rei will beat Dobashi and face Souya and that will be the climax. Win or lose it doesn’t matter. Facing Souya again is probably the last match of the manga imo. This will solidify Rei’s development. We’ll probably get some epilogue and then, yes, the manga will end. Personally I feel it’s about time. It’s done most of what is needed. Only a few loose ends are left.

Please Umino-sensei, let our sad and stressed out cool uncle Shimada get a win before the end of the manga

Umino-sensei has confirmed that the manga is ending soon, bittersweet news. I can see it all coming together for the ending. This is the Lion tournament after all. The series begins in March town and goes out like a lion. Beautiful stuff.

I feel like we're heading towards a conclusion. We'll probably get another hundred or so chapters but I don't see Kiriyama losing to Souya at this point.

A hundred is wild. We're getting like 20-30 at most. This is chapter 222, so another 20 or so would mean we're at 90% now, and this definitely feels like a manga that's 90% done.
