Normally, in this kind of plot, it would be the bully’s dad who holds all the power. But no, this time it's the mother.

I see you, Author. You're aiming for a Mother vs. Mother showdown.

I’m starting to believe that after a lot of bullshit and drama, Maria’s plan almost failing, but the husband coming in clutch after he discovers the truth, the story will culminate with either Okaya watching his mother die in the exact same way Maria’s son did, or he himself dying in the same way as his mother looks, just like Maria did. Then they kill each other.

now it would be really interesting if this Taijyou reiji detective will turn around and help the father in the end, because it seem he antagonize the father out of fear from the chief inspector order

And hoo boy, now Maria has to go through bigger fish (or rather the bigger fish are after her now) just to get her revenge. It seems this will go beyond the scope of the revenge and what one person can "realistically" achieve so I'm quickly losing interest.
