Yeah but I think the confusion stems from her opposition. If they were, she would have presumably stopped it. Or do you think she actually got persuaded? 🥸
And for that matter one would think that considering what she planned and everything she did to prepare she would have got a surgery to prevent such a thing. 😶‍🌫️

One thing I want to know is the biblical analogy. Would a pregnancy even fit? Now granted the author hasn't exactly been very stringent in keeping the analogy but still and all they've made it.

From a writing standpoint everything leads to mari getting pregnant. Too many things are relying on that to happen and create tension

I understand Mari's pain, but she needs to learn to separate revenge from a future; she needs to learn to think about her own happiness. Her son certainly wanted her to be happy
