also did we not read the same chapters?? clearly shows that the maid and madam are very close and is probably the head maid, due to her entering the marquis room along with the head butlers. she is probably a noble lady herself, not all maids are commoners!

It seems the servants care about her and seem offended on her behalf. I know someone mentioned that the maid could be pushing them apart but an affair with a maid seems unlikely seeing that he's a workaholic that barely comes home.
