"utter disappointment" is how I would describe this epilogue if I was asked how I feel about this.
First off, as in epilogue is doesn't do anything, It doesn't explain how the situation and relation between characters evolved with time after the conclusion because, SPOILER, Nothing changed.
These 7 chapters are a statement from the author that: "nothing will change, but it's fine, Adagaki won, Masamune is happy"
It also doesn't serve the story itself all that much as not too much time separate the main story and this thing, which is maybe why everything is so stale and unwavering compared to the main story.
Now I wasn't looking toward an epilogue with drama but at this point I wonder what is even the goal to make almost a Volume worth of nothingness that could have been done a couple of extra chapter for the tankoubon release.
Friendly reminder that Shomin Sample (series running since 2012 and that had an anime adaptation in 2015) was axed, for this.
I'm also pretty sure that Shomin Sample couldn't really be "wrapped up" with a proper ending in 7 chapters and now Rex is going need to find some random Harem rom-com to take that spot again.
Buckle up Bois, next on the list is Masamune-kun no revenge Prologue, where we can observe young Adagaki and Masamune becoming friendly toward one another and see how some of the key flashback elements from the main series came to be, and with a bit of luck maybe we get an Actual volume worth of content, and not just page count.
