It turns out that he is a human supremacist who believes humans should stand above other races and this sentiment became worse as the Red Fox fueled the racists sentiments on the Hyme Kingdom.

Later he fights Ain in a 1v1 fight where Ain kills him and in his dying breath, he voices how he feels no remorse for how he treated Ain and his Mom and curses Ain and Ishtalica.

Brother

After Red Fox manipulates the nobles of Hymn Kingdom to invade and "unite" all the Human Kingdoms to create a rival for Ishtalica, the latter invades Hymn and later Ain duels his brothet and beats him, unfortunately this was all a trap by the Red Fox to lure Ain out so she kisses him and this causes Ain to go on a rampage and in this state he beheads his brother and Ain's Demon Lord and Dryad factors mix and Ain evolves to a new monster called Demon Lord World Tree. A Giant Black Tree that covers an entire city.

So his final memory is seeing fiance kiss his hated brother and Ain in turn beheads him.

This guy actually gets redemption. After Claune rejects his feelings in this meeting, he soon gets over it and works to become a proper Crown Prince and ruler, later when his Kingdom declares war against Ishtalica, he and Claune's mom was opposed to it and they flee to Ishtalica, whre he becomes Ain's friend.

Later when Hymn is defeated and annexed by Ishtalica he was made the new Duke of Hymn and marries one of Ains friends. That orphan Ain befriendes in Chapter 23-34 and works as a nurse in Ain castle.

Might also be that he wants to try to convince her to come back because she was the one keeping the house together. In most stories like this, the scorned wife was the one taking care of finances and the like, so could be that the house is in trouble now that she's gone. Or he thinks he can convince her to call off the secret pact so that the kingdom doesn't get in trouble
