so this was actually foreshadowed a while back! after the fight where they killed kuusetsu we saw that yuuki seemed to have obtained some of her abilities to a limited capacity where he seemed familiar with the shape and form of bodies that kuusetsu herself had eaten or manipulated. I think that if he massages them like kuusetsu did before she ate them (cause she wanted the meat to be tender and soft) he becomes somewhat spiritually familiar with their aura like kuusetsu did.
