What'd you all think of the first season of the anime? Personally, I thought it was fine at best. This is like my favorite manga that I'm currently reading, but the anime was mostly mediocre. The most annoying thing was that they kept on unnecessarily changing scenes and it got on my nerves a bit. Also, the art/animation was kind of poor a lot of the time. I guess we can only hope season 2 steps things up.

That’s the thing when your favorite series gets animated and it’s not a top five series. They’ll use the same cookie cutter CG designs they use on everything, and slap a brightly colored wig on it. It’ll be a shiny mess with practically no substance.

The fact that it’s any good is a testament to how great this series is.

If we talk only about adaptation, it's actualy a realy good one. It sure is not as good as the manga, but you need to remember that this manga started realy slowly. The first few arc of the manga were not as great as the one we have now.
They still focused on some part more than the other, but the adaptation was quite faithfull to the manga.

This means it will only be Varvara that gives the reward, so it won’t be a threesome.

I have to whole heartedly disagree. They cutout and changed several scenes throughout the season, so it was anything but faithful. Also, the art and animation was generally sub par outside of the reward scenes, especially during action scenes which are a highlight of this series. It’s not a bad adaptation, but I absolutely would not call it good, it’s mediocre at best.

Bruh exactly. This season was anything but 'faithful' and the quality overall was mediocre at best. If all you cared about was the reward scenes, then I'm sure you'd love it, but almost everything else was lacking.

Even if all you cared about was the reward scenes it was still shit. Censorship even in the uncensored version, scenes cut out for no reason, weird nude designs (and why the fuck were Himari's nipples pure white in one scene, I cannot fathom), obnoxious filters and sparkles... Compared to the source material they are just so subpar.
