What Mira doesn't understand is that Ren doesn't like animals because they are cute... she likes them because they are inferior.
If she could put a collar on someone in public and go around with them she would as easily as she walks with her dogs.
Ren's mind is twisted, she received too much praise and too much power too early in her life.
Fubuki's answer kinda got me by surprise, she really wants to focus on unmaking the toxic atmosphere that her mother fostered in their family, and I respect that.
Yakumo's answer was something I kinda expected, she is a neutral party, I think she is pretty satisfied with her standing as long as things profit her she will keep her duties at a minimum and do her own thing, she is pragmatic in a self-centered way.
About Tobera's tenure as commander... as much as I think keeping the government at arm's length was a good thing... i doubt she did it for anything besides her own satisfaction, I wouldn't say she is a control freak like Ren, but she is just as much of an egomaniac, maybe more, as Ren does likes to use more sophisticated tactics.
And unfortunately... I doubt Mira has much practical chance of winning, Kyouka may be an idealist but she knows how to play politics, she would rein in the agency and the government but she would work with them, Mira is even better than Kyouka in the moral spectrum... but she TOO idealistic, she is giving too much chance and not keeping her wits sharp enough.
In any other situation, I would love for her to be the commander, but with an enemy of such a level, someone who can be more pragmatic is better.

There was still the bath scene. As promised by the Mangaka, at least 1 fanservice per chapter.
Back to the chapter, So far Tenka have 3 surefire votes, Ren got 2, 3 votes are in consideration. Not sure whether the govt will have 3 votes or one.
Pretty sure this meeting won't end peacefully, tho the odds are still against Tenka in this one. Nothing big happened for a long, Long time in this series after all. People prefer stability on such times.

There's only two government votes that being the minister of defence and the inspector general and they're both almost certainly in Ren's camp. Anyone else present is just there as part of the oversight committee.

As much as I don't like Yamashiro, I'm sure she is still gonna win this.

I'm thinking something like Ren winning reelection and then proclaiming that the shuukified girls don't have human rights once her position is solidified.

I agree that most probably Ren will end up winning, she is to powerful and has to much gobermental backing not to win. Unless it somehow ends up in a draw between Ren and Kyouka which would lead to a faction split.
Maybe if there is a draw Ren would propose a match with Kyouka to see who is stronger...maybe she tries to win Yuuki? I don't know it seems to improbable that Ren could end up being even close to loosing in votes. What is sure to happen is that Varvara will gain Kyouka at least one or two votes.
But Ren will win anyways which would lead to a disaster against the Gods, maybe Yuuki being captured, like one of the Gods takes the chain from Kyouka transfroming him into a monster or something like that, leading to an all out war against the Gods in the worst case scenario. with Ren dead, Kyouka at half her strenght and depressed and maybe another two Chief captured or dead.

At this point I want Ren to win just so I can see the reactions in the comment thread. I am the type who loves to watch the chaos from the sidelines. Plus many signs are pointing to her victory anyway. Still, if Kyouka wins I wouldn't mind it. Well, that and I am not very invested in this election. More interested in how the Gods of Thunder situation plays out.
Devoted worship of the True Goddess Kyouka imparts a certain degree of fantastic, but limited use superpowers.
