Like Genkitsune I`m a bit confused because of the word 'fairy' but since Maru isn`t typical youkai it`s not so bad. It`s probably thanks to most japanese works using 'youkai' while western authors prefer 'fairy' and I got used to it.
But wow, his mum tried to drown them?!!!! I didn`t expect that, I though it would be an accident.
This is a cute and interesting story, thank you for translating it!😍
