I agree with this assessment. MC needs a rival FMC vying for his attention to force the FMC to decide if she wants to be honest with the MC about her true intentions. The teehee it was a lie is a little annoying. FMC uses it to much when honest and less charged wording could be used to get MC to go along. Her constantly keeping him off balance is going to make it so he never steps forward if that's what she's is looking for.
