Really nice imagery in this chapter. Meat to bones, bones to dust for the passage of time. Flowers on a standing stone (or stalagmite) in memory of the dead. The vision of Tobia's wife grieving at his grave leading to him waking up.

Getting the idea that the Shrike witch is what his wife became after the incident, considering the flowers she was always surrounded by/wearing in his memory are the same flowers on the vines emerging from the corpses in the cave.
