@YuriM When I said low latency satellite internet I was referring to LEO sats where the latency is comparable to cable internet. Light speed through air/partial vacuum is faster than glass/fiber (although most distances used with fiber are going to be significantly shorter and a fiber network would be faster). A proper satellite internet will use both relatively short-term, low latency LEO sats and permanent orbit sats for high throughput.
You did touch on a very important aspect though. It isn't going to get that much faster because of physical limits and costs. We might see game streaming but anything more would be pushing it.
