In end he is right on what he is saying but he is taking his conclusion and making them agree to it without the explanation of how he got to that conclusion. He isn't helping them grow into the mindset they need he is just telling them this the mindset you should already have because I have it. He is right but that doesn't tend to help when they have just now been exposed to the reason why that mindset is needed. Like hey look here is baby's first mutilated corpse alright let's move on and be on our guard since he got fucked up pretty bad it seems.

His personality and understanding in the early chapters are all of a sudden completely gone, perhaps its the fault of the manga whereas the novel might be different but idk. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt due to the backstory but this guys just gone insanely edgy with next to no pacing.

@Oculunus its a cruel world where death is a common thing, between a random stranger with no potential vs his limited elixer that can heal someone on the verge of death, of course he wouldn't waste it.

@Oculunus He was going to offer it to keep appearances. He would rather waste one normal potion than waste time. The dying guy didn't have much left.
BTW, I think he is acting this way because these kids already trust in him and the results he produces. Him just telling them "this is the mindset you must have" could possibly work because they will think "What would hyung do in this situation" and adopt his mentality.
He is not their daddy. He is barely an "older brother figure"
He is now the one thing keeping them alive, and so they will listen to him.

@Denker-Bosu - I agree with this assessment. He's effectively a cult leader. He got them to depend on him for survival, cuts off members who question him, and threatens to get rid of them when they "disappoint him". He's basically running with the Chaotic Evil guy's plan from the beginning of the story.

I know it's not D&D but here the main character should be a choatic good, but he's nothing like Drizzt Do'Urden, who's a famous chaotic good character in the Forgotten Realms. Right now, it seems to me to be more like a neutral than everything else. So what's the point of the alignment? I don't hate him or whatever, but they don't seem to bring anything interesting to the story and the author doesn't seem to respect them either, so they aren't very useful.

What's amazing is...I don't think the MC thinks what he's doing is wrong.
To him, it's just a natural course of action to survive.

Then again, he's aware that if he reveals his true personality to them, they might not accept him.
Well, I like how he's trying to hide that side of him, but he'll eventually have to reveal it, or slip up.
Unless he doesn't plan on staying with them for a long time.
