He does that because he knows she could outsmart her, if she gets back her intelligence, and that it's more beneficial to tie her down now. Does he trick her? Sure. Is it scummy? Sure. Is it the same as making her a straight slave? Lol no. She isn't forced into it, and within a contract, you're not obligated to follow every whim. Learn the difference.
