yo gotta realize that despite most of the population being concentrated around urban centers, a good proportion still lives in the countryside. and just several decades ago many of them were still peasant farmers. Thus there is a very distorted representation/image of what metropolitan/urban life actually is. This sorta manwha most likely derived from novels of the sort written by people from the country side in sort of wish fulfillment of being able to live the good life in the big city.
The more likely reason however is that it's just a way of indicating that this is a modern day cultivation manwha. because urban metropolitan city = modern day i guess. It's in the same vein that japanese authors will try to fit the word iseikai in their LN titles just for the sake of it.
