Can confirm. This shit took so long I started reading the LN. Lotta small stuff seems to have been cut but they haven't actually left the store yet. P sure they're still gonna buy them because
that's part of what they eat when Hiro gets stranded with the elf princess
Well the raw for 56.2 is already out, so while they likely skipped the Tasting Party part completely (unless they randomly insert it in beginning of 57.1 or some later point).

As for the part you mentioned, they could easily alter that in the Manga or even skip it entirely. I mean that part isn't really that important to the plot.

They saw MC's swords and still did this?
Can't blame MC for what's coming to them :/
Well, in their defence, they are in a military base, so a lot of people have badges & swords on them.
And among them is a clear Mercenary with those stuff on him, which would seem jarring to some.

Plus, I think Mercenaries in general don't bother with such stuff. If it was a Commoner, then maybe yes. But this series always tells that Mercenaries are supposed to be uncouth people, and some do interact with Military & Nobles quite frequently for work. So, they are used to seeing stuff like Nobles Sword & Medals.

I mean, there was a Mercenary who tried to pick a fight with MC in a more direct manner back in Chapter 53.1, just immediately after MC received his medal, while other Mercenaries were making fun of the situation in the background.

They may be smarter, but they still are idiots. Who just picks a fight with another merc carrying 2 swords, whose combat strength they clearly know nothing about, with the intention to break up his group for some reason, and all while during a short regroup and repair for an active combat deployment?
The swords signify status, not strength, its idiotic because they fail to notice they are challenging a noble(about to be). As has been alluded previously mc's personal fighting skills/strength aren't OP (unless he's in mecha, or flying a ship, then it's a whole 'nother game..)

Because, as per the plot of the series, majority of Mercenaries work solo and rarely as a group (even in this case mostly consisting of same gender).

Aka, while there are significant number of female Mercenaries, they either tend to work solo (like Elma used to), or with other female Mercenaries as a group. And even if they work with male Mercenaries, its basically for a few jobs and not as a single group.

Mercenaries rarely hock-up with opposite gender as well, because they travel around the universe, so unless they work as a same group, chance of a male Mercenary being with a female is quite rare.

There is also the financial aspect as well, as most mercenary spend a lot of money without much saving, except when needed. So, most operate a single ship with a very low crew capacity, making working from a single ship as a group quite hard and rare.

So, in the end, to most Mercenaries, seeing a single male Mercenary working in a group with so many women is actually supposed to be quite rare, and apparently enviable.
There is also the bit that it seems people assume a Male Captain with a Female Crew Member will engage in lots of pre-marital Hanky Panky so they might assume the worst. Light Novel (and manga at one point where they actually bring it up) mentions it's more of a cliché but in the case of Hiro's Crew it's actually "nearly"(Dwarfs need more time) 100% true. Not that they know that.

Of note that differs from the Web Novel where it's not a cliché but something of a "rule" but that was mostly removed from the LN and manga and reduced to being a cliché. Something which I prefer actually since it removes the "obligation" aspect and makes it more consensual.
Fun Fact: In the Webnovel he never told Elma her assumptions of Hiro wanting her body was a Misunderstanding. Which is kinda a dick move. Granted him telling her afterwards kinda was too but the scene was hilarious.

Thought I add another thing and yes, them trying to antagonize him when he has a Nobles Swords on his hips is brain dead stupid. A reminder that a earlier chapter established a Noble can kill them by rights for any perceived slight. What they are doing would easily count.

Just a note but his "hand to hand" skills are lower than Emma's but he trains with her, otherwise takes care to train his body and he is a crackshot. He can probably take the average thug in a round of fisticuffs decently enough. His rescue of the cute dwarf was on foot and while he had support he did the later half solo. He is definitely far more skilled than he should be considering he was just some Japanese Salaryman only months (a year?) before.

Not yet, the medal just puts him on the honorary knight level, swords are more or less just a status symbol. Hiro will get a a proper noble rank of sorts given to him once this arc finishes and they get invited by the Emperor to the capital planet.
Spoilers :pout:

In this setting most nobles have body augmentation, so it kinda signifies strength, think about Jedi Knight plus space marines

Well, I guess they're not just random scumbags, just weirdos with an odd sense of justice worried in their own way about how a woman's being treated. I think this world does view any woman on a ship as basically also a sex slave so they're maybe worried she's not there of her own volition.

Man, I love this manga so much. Thanks for the translation.

And I cannot wait for anime series this fall. But at the same time I am very scared as it is being done by Studio A-CAT.

And I do not want this awesome space isekai to end like TBATHE did... :meguuusad:
Wait?! It got approved for a second season?! Oooooooooo! Well. That's coolz! :3

Author has been busy. With the anime announcement happening earlier and they were hospitalized for a few weeks iirc. Between that and working on the light novel version as well.
Yar. It's no good if they work themselves into an early grave. I swear, though, it really is telling just how many comic artists in Asia end up working themselves into the hospital. It's like a bad trope. We really need a major economic overhaul of the comic book industries globally. Employee owned and operated cooperative corporations, but specifically, Worker Self-Directed Enterprises" (WSDEs), which would enable the publishing industry to not have the actual people making this stuff worked into early graves with nothing to show for it. Also... [totally selfish reason] just think of how much better the art would get if all the "assistants" were WSDE affiliated, had tons of free training, and they had enough staff to work this stuff. Also, then there wouldn't be the slop push. The whole extended creative teams would get to vote on which works would get the focus. :3 So, just so long as the artists weren't Lieutenant Edward Larkin level Emotional Quotient Zeros, then such options. [For context, I effectively said that so long as someone doesn't try to develop the metaphorical equivalence of a Tribble, all should be well.]

This comic is great, though I admit the pain of waiting for new chapters is brutal. Though, it's definitely worth the wait. :3
