Is there anything in the WN (or LN) about Elmas ship? Way back in chapters 5-8, we know it was wrecked when it crashed into the military ship, and she ended up owing 3 million Enel but couldn't pay it back in time cause her ship was being repaired. In chapter 8, Hiro says he paid what she owed in full, and after that there no mention of her ship ever again (at least so far). So what happened to her ship? Was it used/sold off as part of the payment? Is it in storage after it was repaired? :questionblob:

It's like the ship just disappears with no explanation why. I thought from the crash that the ship was totalled beyond repair as it seemed like the only thing left was the cockpit since it was made extra strong. But she does say later the ship was being repaired, and then poof, no more ship in the story.
The ship was basically totaled, and was a flying deathtrap. It isn't in storage, the Krishna wasn't large enough. I'm pretty sure it was sold off as parts to decrease her debt, but it was a very small chunk. Elma does end up getting a new ship, but it won't be for a while yet.

In the Light novel Elma says that consolidating all of her assets which is (obviously money and) the crashed ship combined with all her cargo including even the booze she had there stored she's short the amount that Hiro paid off.
Which means that she owed more than what Hiro paid and how deep in the red she was with it.
She also said that she could've paid it off if only she had more time than they've given her, since she couldn't even have repaired her ship before the deadline finished.

There's also more details about it but I won't mention it since we'll probably see it in the next arc anyway. Or the one after.

So the scene of Serena as an Admiral from the beginning of this manga likely isn't going to happen anymore? That sucks.
It's specifically mentioned that being a noble high-ranking officer (at the time she joins Hiro's crew she's only one-two ranks off being an Admiral already), she can be called back to duty at any time if it's considered necessary.

And there's intimations that there might be another major war with the Vereverim (or however you spell it) federation, because the incidents with them keep escalating.

She kinda gave up when he mentioned about her nobility. She knows that she’s in a bind of responsibility and can’t co-op with him that much unless it’s an urgent need.

The wording would have helped greatly. Not sure if it's there in the original Japanese of the manga, but in the English translation it leaves it up in the air.

It's Hiro that asks her how much she's short by, and then Elma that states "even if I use all my funds and savings", with no mention of the ship (or booze or cargo, etc). Her next sentence, "I can't even make any money because my ship won't be ready for another two weeks", makes it seem as if her ship is already in the process of being repaired.

Hence why I wondered where her ship disappeared to. Thanks for that info from the LN!

It's nice to be able to work together like that; you know where you stand, that way.
