I liked the chapter, but I feel like Mei is a really big cheat. With how powerful and versatile these androids can be, why don't we see more of them all over? Sure, she was made "special order" so possibly only rich people could spec them like her, but we've already seen a fight with nobles and they didn't use them. It downgrades the risk if Mei can just handle the base by herself while Hiro sneaks in.
Machine Intelligence Gynoid are costly to afford, even at lowest specs. So only really rich people can possibly get them. And those kind-off people usually stay within their colonies or planets and rarely leave, so they don't need combat related Gynoid, and instead opt for management, helper, pleasure or pure maid types Gynoids.
As for the Noble's, they don't use combat MI's since there reasoning is related to the story of the Machine Intelligence origin. Plus, most of them have some form of physical augmentation, that increases their mental & physical capabilities, so having combat MI's around is useless to them.
Plus, they have combat drones (like the surveillance ones we saw in the previous chapter and this chapter), which are far less pricey and economical (it is mentioned later that, you can get 10+ fully armed military grade combat drones for the price of one Gynoid with similar specs as Mei).
