True, but the whole point of having the girls in the story is to keep the MC grounded and to make up for what he lacks. He’s clearly not an assertive person and a lot of people especially in Japanese society, emphasize authority and hierarchy in the workplace. When those things are ingrained on a daily basis it becomes a hard not to defer to authority. The main character doesn’t want to cause waves but also wants to help those around him, it’s not hard to see why he would be overwhelmed in this situation. Just calling him a child because he isn’t decisive with a complete grasp of every situation is just reductive and it paves the way for marysue character writing.
