The Shine Muscat grapes she brought to school are also pretty pricey. Obviously not as expensive as the caviar, but looking online I see prices ranging from about 5,000-10,000 yen per kilo, and depending on the store easily twice or triple that. Fruits in Japan tend to be a lot more expensive too, but these can go upwards of 10x the price of regular green grapes.

This is the story of my life with food manga. It's half past ten in the evening here, and I should not be hungry — but reading cooking manga makes me ravenous. "Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan" is the worst, for that, but this manga is pretty bad too.
