Yknow, when I got into this manga I was never expecting it to have yuri subtext, let alone this level of explicit gayness. I'm extremely happy with it though. There's no way that the author doesn't follow through with this, right? Michiru is so fucking gay and this chapter felt really lewd somehow.

I always wonder how many “alternate versions” of certain chapters mangaka have in their drawers that we never get to see.

Not just the rejected ideas, the crazy/horny/dumb plotline drafts they might do just for fun. Just sitting there in a cabinet somewhere, or thrown away.

Thought maybe it’s just too much work and most only complete one version.

Yuri can be, and mostly is really sexual and lewd actually, just like Yaoi it's mostly played as fetish bait.

It's probably borderline publisher safe. Would be fun if the actual guidelines for the authors were public information for each magazine. I'd really like to know where Manga Time Kirara draws the line, since it is essentially yuri but not, most of the time.

Generally I'd guess anything outside of actual confessions or said confessions becoming relationships and any serious kissing is where most magazines draw the line. Funnily enough it isn't just yuri or yaoi service, you can see this in quite many shounen series too, where the romance is only allowed actually in the 10 year timeskip epilogue, where everyone has gotten together and spawned mini-mes.
