Of all the creepy spirits, ghosts and monsters we've seen so far, it's interesting to see that the most dangerous one is one that looks like a middle aged man.

I can't help but wonder what's the story behind it and also what is its true form.

Ok, there’s a lot of bad shit going down but we cannot forget that this rabbit is draining the life force. Sure she had too much and it attracted ghosts, but this is not something to be ignored.

Likely going to be important in future chapters, either as powerful ward or the key to banishing whatever that haunted Rom.

Also yeesh, even after all that prep Rom still disn't get away with it.

-- I wonder if the talk of chrysalis was forshadowing. Like...Michiru and/or Pii-Chan are going to come back, but they'll be changed somehow. Or alternatively, Pii-Chan is sick, not dead, but will need to be returned to the forest in order to survive.

-- The life energy-absorbing Lambda Rabbit is interesting. I doubt it's evil, so maybe it will serve as a talisman for someone?

-- The flashback of Michiru finding Pii-Chan in the forest has two birds flying around her. Birds eat caterpillars, so I guess Pii-Chan bonded with her because she saved it?

Ugly Bastard seems to operate like reverse mythic eyes. As in, he had curse that activates to whoever saw him. Like his whole existence itself is poisonous, so if you can perceive him in your mind, that means the curse is already brought inside you.
Pii-chan detected and is getting ready to fight, but the moment it perceived ugly bastard, it’s already cursed.
Miko seems to be the most resistant, she saw him several times already, but never show herself affected.

Pii-chan’s case brings worry for Seto’s involvement though.
Seto is probably immune to ghosts because he can’t see them, and the Men in Black don’t have “eyes”.
But if Ugly Bastard’s curse can also hit them, would it also reach Seto?

The cover page was a bit difficult for me to translate, so I wanted to explain my choices and also who is who.

異端 technically means 'heretic', but I translated it as 'nonconformist', since 'heretic' has religious implications, which I don't think is relevant here and 'nonconformist' has a similar enough meaning.

寵児 means 'favourite (child)', which doesn't really make sense here, but it can also mean 'popular/well-known person', so I translated it as 'celebrity'.

識者 means 'expert', which made sense, so I didn't change it.

I interpreted Romm as the 'Nonconformist', as he is the only one of the three that is actively seen as "strange", as he doesn't conform to society's standards and is instead noticeably eccentric.
Mitsue is the 'Celebrity', as she is a very well known psychic, which Yuria stated in a previous chapter.
And Seto is the 'Expert', as he's the only one who knows how to deal with the old man ghost.

But again, just my interpretation, would love to hear what other people think! I feel like it's very open to interpretation as well, which is why it's a bit confusing

well, that assuming seeing it is the trigger to the curse, maybe "acknowledging" it? And if you cant see it, you have a hard time to acknowledge it?
tho at the same time Michiru got affected by it even when its Pii-chan that see it, tho maybe because she have symbiotic relationship with it

so that left with how connected Seto are with the shadow men
