I know it would be a pretty big evolution of the premise, but I do wonder if we'll ever get to the point where Miko can do stuff on her own like the other three. Maybe more in line with Seto's thing with having spirits at her command.

She has far and away the strongest sight so it seems like she'd have a lot of potential.
That wouldn't be an evolution, it would be a massive divergence. The whole point is that she explicitly wants nothing to do with this, and hopefully she'll just lose her ghost-vision at some point. You're just angling to turn this into Jujutsu Kaisen

I wonder if all yokai just look that scary. There's two kinds of yokai usually:

Nigitama which are born of good feelings like love and kindness.

Aratama which are born of bad feelings like hatred and cruelty.

I wonder if these mafia yokai are just scary looking nigitama. Since they always just seem to do good deeds

Ohhhhhhhh Francois was her dog.
I wonder why it looks different than the guardian spirits of the other deceased animals.

I'm slowly getting more and more convinced that the story is leading into revealing that Mamoru (Miko's father) didn't die of natural causes and was instead murdered by "middle-aged guy with a sickle", and now he's coming for Miko too. Of course this must have something to do with their powers as they are most likely the only ones with "true" sight.

Even better, I think Seto is here to interrogate dad about middle aged guy. That is how we will learn it. At least, I guess so...

I hope the Men in Black storyline has a happy ending for them. Do we know why he didn't destroy them yet? He literally mentioned he'll destroy any spirits he can get his hands on.

I love how kind and genuine Miko is, she's so sweet

Man I Love Miko

Side note: I wonder what exactly she's supposed to learn from the Men in Suits? How to help people using her Sight? She already does that though, so maybe how to help out more? I gotta look closer at those panels

We also got an official name for that dragon thing! Was there any person or pet named François? Also, we're about to learn more about the Dad and his circumstances 👀

And the fact that the dad knows it’s François* probably means that he could see it when it was still looking like a dog, and probably helped keep it on the “positive side” all his life… I love that her father had a similarly powerful ghost vision than her… I wonder if he will ever get the chance to kinda “coach” her on his tricks… of course, she can’t use his glass trick…

*Gosh it feels weird to see my own name used as a dog’s. XD But it’s nice that it’s such a nice ghost though.

Thanks a bunch for the chapter. I personally identify with Boutte-san for his love of ramen.

That offering scene now has me curious about the logistics of how spirits enjoy offerings. Do they get to enjoy it spiritually if it is offered?

iirc, Seto will have to eat the food later after the MiB had their meal.

I might be misremembering, but when offering food to altar in temple or street side shrines, the food is not discarded. It would be eaten by the family members, or for the people in the temple. For shrines outside such as by the roadside or inside forest, by wild animals or travellers in need.
The spirits had taken their part, those like us in the physical realm can take the leftover.

Maybe they take the "life energy" the food would otherwise give? So the food exists, but doesnt give you any fuel, like you would still feel hungry or waste away if all you ate was offerings.
