Huh, I wonder if the real spirit stopped just because it was confused or if this was some very subtle foreshadowing of her having powers to influence them.

Because logically speaking in this universe, there is some kind power that's able to stave off spirits, if those bracelets were just ordinary accessories there's no reason for why they would break when nothing else does.
