If you read mangas you have the feeling that any girl walking alone in Japan is gonna be harassed/stalked/raped.

@Vikingix Think of it backwards. The country and social normality is so safe that in order to create this kind of "romantic cliche" you need to bend the norm with these risque situations to create suspension bridge effect or sorta.

@HeliumHe Rather, we're still only seeing one individual experience these things most of the time. Not just in Japan, but in that entire story's world. So we have no basis for how common or uncommon it is with a sample size of a whopping one whole case, as the other series we see it in are also their own self-contained universes more often than not.
