tbh, yeah. And ch 159 is not much better. I kinda brought it up back in ch 157, but I feel the plan is just wrong on a fundamental level as a reader.

And i will harp non-stop about how "I'm putting the 3 top students in charge of you plebeians" flies in the face of "I want to show the worth of the gen eds.

So, basically, Kazuki goes to the gen-ed, which is a class per year, much to Kazuki's surprise., Pitches the project, people react lukewarm and despondent, pointing out people are not interested and that last year they had a very small budget and that they are not feeling well at this school.

Of course, this means it's just an excuse and thus they will make a theatrical play and put the yuus as leads.

You know, the yuu that can't act. As a lead in a play. In a show of how better they are than the people that are fully dedicated to the theatrical arts, have more staff (as it's clear they have more than one class) and resources.

I'm honestly infuriated, because how much agency does this remove from the other students and how it will clearly succeed or some other bullshit due to... the plot needing to. And the worst is, that this is a corner the author has promptly drawn herself into.

I mean 4-eyes is sorta right, Yuu is basically a trophy wife. At some point if you make enough money, how much money you make isn't the main consideration anymore. If the 3 girls are geniuses they'd probably earn enough to the point where they'd likely a partner who can take care of them, the house, and kids.

Downhill's a bit much. I'm still enjoying it quite well and is up there as one of the series I follow that I get really excited about when I see a new chapter on it (and I have well over 300+ series that I follow regularly). And as far as harem series go, this is one of the better ones out there by far.

he not really wrong though. I mean there's a reason why ppl seperated the class based on the score. Letting a normal kid into a class full of genius then then it could pretty much crushing all the little determination and self-esteem they have considering that no matter how much you try then you will never be as good as them

yeah now I only read for the side couple and Yuu x Sakura moment ) both of them are just "failure" who try their hardest so I can't just stop rooting for this impossible ship (just like how they can never be equal to the sister)

I mean, yeah, if they were putting everyone in the most advanced courses, that would be disadvantageous for all, but that's not what is happening here. This stooge is just wallowing in his self pity and when Ayase refuses to join in with him, he immediately turns on him and blames it on his pretty face. Like, this is peak loser behavior. If he really wanted to practice what he preaches, he would've already transferred.
