Memory erasure and time loop now?? Why can't they just kiss and make up? This makes you think how many times they might've repeated the loop, each time Hareta falls for Misaki and profuses his love, then Misaki coming to terms with his feelings, just for their love to be, ultimately, never achieved. Just stop this mess, bro. Why is my Femboy Yaoi manga which I started reading for the funnies turned out to be so philosophical and sad?

Every little bit we learn about this world ends up being more depressing than the last. What do you mean a time loop?? So wither Hareta accepts he can't be with Misaki and goes for one of the other girls or they just keep doing this over and over? That sounds awful, man. How will they even escape this? Short of another bug, this seems genuinely hopeless.

Maybe Hareta has been looping for as long as Greed If Subaru.

Ohh spooky, the "Ghosts" on Page 8 are like corrupted versions of the two girls. I wonder if that's just a cool visual or more :thonk:
They probably are the empty vessels of the previous loop characters after their memories got erased.

Seems that the game may actually be making clones of them when it resets instead of rewinding time.

By the way, just curious, how did the JP user decrypt the corrupted text? What is meant by character encoding?
From what I see, it's just utter gibberish (granted I don't know Japanese lol)

The chapter name had me thinking a different manga I read was updated again in short order lol

I wonder how one would go about preserving their knowledge through a reset outside of talking to the MC (who I think would be the only one immune)

About character encoding:
Computers store information with series of bits, that is, zeros and ones. (1001001110100...) (tangent: they are usually called zero and one, but they can also be thought of as off/on, false/true, etc., anything with two states really.)

"how to represent strings of characters (that is, plain text) with a series of zeros and ones" is a question with no single correct answer. A character encoding is something that gives one answer.

Using one encoding to encode (convert to zeroes and ones) and another different encoding to decode (convert from zeroes and ones) will produce gibberish:

Let's say that encoding A says "000 = a, 001 = b, 010 = c" , but encoding B says "000 = x, 001 = y, 010 = z" (normally theres more than 3 bits, this is just an example). If you encode "abc" with A you get 000001010, but if you decode that with B you get "xyz".
The process is reversible: if you encode "xyz" using B, you get the same ones and zeroes as above, which you then decode with A to get "abc".

This is basically how the gibberish in the previous chapter was made and then deciphered.
