And so, Misaki and Hareta began their journey to the real world, which is revealed to be a super advanced sci-fi society where humanity has evolved to the point of becoming unrecognizable blobs of flesh! It turns out that at some point in the past they forgot what love was, so they made the game that Miskai and co. had been living in as a way of figuring it out again! At first, they are upset that Hareta is straying from the paths they set up, (hence the resetting) but they soon realize that they had been looking right at true love this whole time, and so all the future non-humans become gay. THE END.

So it's canon, huh. That was sudden, kind of caught me by surprise. So now the dynamics changed. Maybe I'm idiotic or not paying attention, but didn't quite understood the recent built up to this moment.

Author sprinkled a little bit of everything, we got psychological dread, and some fanservice to soothe the ambience. I will miss boy Misaki, as I guess they will now conveniently try to cheat the game by marking the interaction as entirely hetero.
