after all, while Kida is portrayed as sort of "actively suffering" from the trauma, Konishikawa is shown as if he is past it, believing to have found his answers, thus disregarding anything to the contrary like on autopilot (including the advances of Misato)

as some characters have mentioned before too, it's probably going to require active and targeted actions for someone as unresponsive as him at this point
