When you travel to a small town of 2.8 million people, chances are you will soon bump into familiar people if it was your former home town. I mean, with only 2.8 million people, everybody knows everyone and they all frequent the same shops and services.

When I was on huge festival, easy one million people (Woodstock Poland now Pol'n'Rock) I've met two people whom I didn't see for about 5-6 years. So yeah it is happening more often then people think :v

She is old but not THAT old to be his mom lol. Dude is like what? 55? Otherwise she would be looking way to good for someone who is pushing at least 75. I think people sometimes forget that male lead is pushing 60 himself (hence the rightful crush out of FMC's brother in the recent chapter)

Actually IIRC he's in his 40's. Which I imagine is quite intentional; old enough to have a sizable age gap, but young enough that having a family wouldn't strain believability.

Because I mean c'mon; the topic is going to come up eventually.

I can't wait for more manufactured drama. Ex-wife/fiancee seems like she has a good head on her shoulders so if this were writing believable adults with actual maturity then Misato would point out how he's mellowed out and she would wish him well on growing as a person and realizing his mistakes and being on her merry way with her new family she likely started with a new hubby. Bonus points for prodding Konishikawa into not letting another good woman get away from him with Misato and giving him the kick in the rear he needs to actually go for it cause she's a based older woman like that.

Unfortunately, this is middle school level maturity and drama so she'll be snarky and snap at him and Misato will get childishly defensive and the ex will call Konishikawa a cradle robber for "liking them young" and then he'll flounder and mope cause he has no spine to defend himself all before the grand reveal that her "son" is actually Konishikawa's and she was pregnant when she broke off the engagement because she didn't want to raise her child in an environment like that.

It'll likely be a spectrum leaning closer to the latter side but if we can even get somewhere near the middle I'll give it a passing grade.

But if you stretch it, you can say 40s" which is a pretty big stretch. He will be a retired senior citizen in 6 years and sending off his children (if they do it right NOW) to highschool at 70. That's why her brother lost it when he learned and chief is even older than what he is told.
