@Elanska yeah arwin is a piece of shit and i know that him being nice is a pipe dream but a girl can hope for an old (?) man right?

and ibelin isnt an outright villain, yeah, but shes still not a good person since you really shouldnt be treating your friend like shit either? you dont have to be a tyrant to be a bitch. and i mean lattes not getting more attention than her, she just gets it more from one guy than her predestined three. basically in ibelins mind its "boohoo, i only have two instead of three, poor me. i shall now be conniving" and thats not good

also that triangle scene is possible since this plot line can get so convoluted but i think arwin would be quick to set the record straight or latte would be blase about it (unless her feelings change about him) since shes really just there to enjoy the ride kjdfakjfljah i actually its more like ibelin who would try and set the two apart and get between them and worsen the problem and keep the misunderstandings going. but if she does do that, arwins gonna be PISSED as hell thats for sure

@chuchuchoerry I know I am probably wrong, but I would like to give Ibelin the benefit of the doubt. Just think of popcorn nose and his horrible past/present and imagine that Ibelin has a similar tale.
Its not far off from the story, and actually well supported by her present situation and the original plot.
Currently, she is being targeted by all these wretched nobles all because her natural charisma has captivated the only 3 single men in the kingdom that don't look like sardines.
Actually, its not only wretched nobles, even the nice ones have been hypnotized by the 3 non ugly single men into attacking her. Just remember latte's dear friend, olive oil.
And in the original story, she was even betrayed by her only friend because the devious prince infected her. Seriously, those 3 are the source of the problems here. They really should walk around with bags over their heads.

But, point is, imagine that this has been going on since birth. Her first friends in her childhood days, betraying her because she won over the guy her friend liked without knowing it.
Imagine that she turned to ancient books because she gave up on making friends, and that was the only corner of the library no one went to.
Imagine that she left her home country because she had been bullied her whole life there by people she once thought of as friends.
This trauma, slowly building up into a general distrust of everyone, all from the fear of eventual rejection. And, as these staged events go down, she cannot help but wonder if putting her trust into latte was a mistake. She laments on the day she first considered her a friend. The first day in a long time that she had decided to put down a book and go outside to play with another girl her age. The first day since forever that she truly smiled. And yet all of this may have been fake, just like it always ends up being.

Sure, she doesn't want to believe it, but latte has been suspicious since the beginning. I mean, the day they met she was just eating popcorn while watching her be stuck in a tree. Latte bumped into her and antagonized a group of bandits, not offering any actual assistance until she herself was in danger. Her reaction to the ogre attack makes it seem like she knew they were coming. And despite claiming to love books, it seems like she never visited a library prior to their meeting. Everything about latte is a mystery to her. Lattes actions look suspicious. And, in all honesty, she would be right to doubt her, because Ibelin is nothing more than the star of her personal comedy show. And, just like Arwin, latte would likely nudge Ibelin into harms way for her own personal entertainment, and definitely wouldn't less stop her from getting into such situations to begin with. No, she would only do that for true friends, like olive.

@chuchuchoerry = well...your dream...is kinda unlikely (since he's, like, that crude)......but well, everyone free to dream, so ok.

and @firefish5000 yeah, we need to consider Ibelin's circumstances as well. She's been loaded by female lead's only EVENTS and FLAGS all her life, so she's kinda used to it. It's understandable if she feels entitled (not nice, and certainly not something we condone, but understandable). kinda like the only child suddenly have baby sister and throwing a temper tantrum because she used to get all the attention. I've been reading spoilers too about her being attention hoggers and my first thought is like, 'what a bitch' (especially if she stands in my arwin x latte shipping), but from what I saw on these chapters, Ibelin is not really actively sabotaging Latte's romance like in other shoujo triangle drama (or more precisely, Arwin's attempt to romance her (sigh oblivious Latte, when will you realize gurl?). She's just behaving like normal human female lead with usual spotlight on Ibelin would.

Yes I had to accept that she's not all that angelical. I meant if I just have someone pushing a bookshelf on top of me, I wouldn't go 'my heart is as wide as ocean, so I will pretend this accident just not exist' either, so Ibelin being not-so-nice throwing double meaning line getting angry at Latte is kinda...humane (in fact if it was me, I would clapped myself on the back for coming up with such perfect double meaning lines). Ibelin has her friends getting crazy over her 'but I consider them just friends' fishes admirers before (it would be interesting to see what Ibelin thought about Arwin, since he's the first fish that behaves out of norm). so if Latte really done it, it wouldn't be something new (Latte stealing the attention, now, that's something new - and maybe that's why she gets angry at Latte instead 'my heart is as wide as the ocean....' angelical stuff)

TL;DR Ibelin's conduct still fall within my personal line of normal girl female lead with perpetual spotlight on Ibelin. So I'm fairly okay with her as long as she stay out from my arwin x latte. if she tries to disrupt this, she's dead. but i kinda want to see the drama but she will still be dead.

@firefish5000 Latte thinks Ibelin have 3 ultra impenetrable shields from the fishes. and she's just a little sidekick with little power, it's not like the novel specified on X day X hour Peridot will make bookshelf falls (Latte cannot exactly saying 'don't go to library for the rest of your life' 'why?' 'peridot has a scheme' 'how did you know that?' 'I uh????'). She's under belief that whatever events happened, Ibelin will be a-ok, she's the protagonist on the novel so nothing bad will happened to her (that's what the fishes are for!), the supporting characters on the other hand......

PSPS = I love this brainstorming discussion, thanks guys

at least Gandalf gets sympathy in the comments, even if he can't catch a break anywhere else
