Shochu is up to twice as strong as soju typically, I think. I've tried a couple of the barley shochus (Iichiko Silhouette $21/750ml and Iichiko Saiten $36/750ml) but shochu is uncommon in Arizona so I haven't had any of those produced from other ingredients such as sweet potato, which is supposed to have a stronger taste. Silhouette has an almost neutral taste but the Saiten has a much stronger taste similar to sake. (Total Wine site has Silhouette at 25% (50 proof) and Saiten at 43% (86 proof, whiskey territory). It also groups the Spirit Type together with Soju.)
I learned new things today that Shochu is different from Soju; I was under the impression that it was how Japanese spelled and pronounced Soju.

I've had Takumi no Hana sweet potato shochu (30%) and various barley ones at around the same range.

All were at least ok, but Takumi no Hana was fantastic.

You mean a good point, but I have met childhood friends about 14 yeas later and most of them are able to recognise me.
And I was also able to recognise them, at a certain point it comes down to more than just looks but also the feel of the person.
Sound, smell, personality, style can all be contributing factors.
Which is something I overlooked in my original post. So you did raise a really good point.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some teachers remember well versus forgetting each year if it’s like 30 students per class

Interesting if some ppl are recognizable if someone went outta their way to change their looks /personality /only remember some thing you did /said at 13th at you’d rather forget

Impressive but also embarrassing depending, I can imagine some reunions being more awkward of one was more burnt out (altho I imagine there’s also some stories of regretful hookups too tho mc probably wants something long term unless we do get A “twist” like someone else said of a diff love interest being introduced)

From my own experiences having met up with my of my old high school teachers years later, most of them seem to remember either the teachers pets or the trouble makers. The people that don't really stand out seem to get forgotten. I myself was a teachers pet trying my hardest to always get good scores to impress my strict asian family.

Well they seemed to recognise me even though my time a high school was spent, mainly in my emo and goth faze which I grew out of at university in favour of a more artist black clothing look; it was easy as my wardrobe was all black already. And from talking to them they seemed to recognise most of the students if only by certain things that had happened with each of them.
Like each student was less of a person and more of a one line anecdote. As for childhood friends their were more stories about those close to them and a similar thing about others that they lost touch with, that they could only really vaguely remember them though incidents involving them.

Thats a really good point, I have to say I have seen you a lot on these forums and you mostly always make well made statements. You seem really well read.

senbero is something we need to import to the states.
Alcohol is very cheap, it only expensive because the government taxes it to hell. Even then a bottle of everclear is like 16 dollars. You could be drunk for an entire week off of that.

The twist: this is actually Stepford Wives, but reversed. They're gonna walk into the bar and realize like, 40% of all the guys in this city look like that guy.
