I mean the MC of this Mangaka's other work couldn't be more different then this main, also this Mangaka is a specialist writing people with low common sense and a lot of loose screws.

He wasn't even given a redemption arc-- he was just given more depth than a school bully from a PSA, but that was apparently a writing taboo that heralded a "totally undeserved" redemption arc.

I think our MC don't understand. Were his mother kept pushing after the lost of her husband and kept the house, same as his friend mother did.

His friend's mother pushed into she started to slowly give up. She don't have the same drive as his mother.

The house burning down might be a wake up call for her if she really want the best for her son.

Could just be a coincidence from the actual arsonist, could be the mom ended up causing the fire somehow, but it's likely Miyu left a little something near the trash that would burn up in a few hours and give her an alibi.

At this point MC is literally just a background decoration. He should've asked her a long time ago who/what she is and why she is an impostor (and then report her to the police if deemed necessary). But nooooo, he's scared. He's shy. He's a damn vegetable.

In this chapter alone he should've slapped her for making stupid comments about the victims' situation. It's none of her business. He should also report her to the police as she may possibly be the arsonist behind all this.
Honestly, mangas like these are only held up by flex tape and shitty logic of the mangaka and their characters.
