I didn't read the novel, but this seem good to me. No ideal why everyone hate this arc. This is like nothing compare to other shounen battle manga arcs.

I tried to read the novel and it have a different plot, the author changed it a lot in the manga, and from the little I've seen of the differences, the light novel is probably better.
It even looked like there was no real harem element in the web novel but just fanservice and MC was only interested in a human girl, think classmate, would be nice to see it go a different way even there.
