That moment when you completely ignore the fact the author said the concerns were valid.

Props to the author for recognizing that something wasn't working as intended, they made a mistake, and actually having the guts to admit it. It's easy to get riled up and defensive when you realize you've done something offensive and get called out for it, they handled it in a mature manner, i think.

As Buddha once said to his enemies moments before their death: "Normies get out".

I appreciate this response; it's a very reasonable and responsible way to handle this issue. Thank you for addressing the problem.

And for people salty bout it... its... literally still somewhere you can go read it. This ain't a hill to die on. And... you're def not changing any minds.

Now back to doofy fanservice of adult ass women.

@friendly,

Yes.

@Skrist, the comic was about monster girl stories though this manga isn't a thread. I can see why (some) people were Kobayashi'd honestly specially considering this is a Chi...Taiwan manga?

Fictional characters or not, I don't think it's a smart idea to place relationships of not just possible pedophilia, but that of one between teacher and student. There are reasons why schools have such rules and policies against such relationships. I'd say this is the best medium we can get between those who want it and those who don't want it. You can still go read it if you want, so I don't see why everyone is whining.

And let's just be fucking brutally honest here. They say "senior high school" student. The character looks more akin to elementary to middle school at best, and I'm sure it's purposely done that way for the loli lovers. So don't try to rally behind that bullshit and say she's basically an adult.

Wait, they're Not going to put the conclusion on Deviantart, the place with all the furry porn.
But Twitter and Facebook are ok? I feel like something got swapped somewhere.

Was there a purge or something? Did Deviantart become clean, I haven't been there in years.

Why would you necessarily be taking advantage of their naiveness if you date someone outside of your age bracket? I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm asking why would that always be the case?
"and ignoring the fact that when HE was likely in high school she was only like 5-6 years old." Why would that be an issue? For example if a 36 year old and a 26 year old wanted to be in a romantical relationship (one would have been 16 year old so in HS when the other was 6 year old) why would what you said be an issue? It seems to me that you are deliberately trying to associate every age gap relationship with dating a prebuscent child and that's just plain intellectual dishonesty.
Sexual relationships with a child is morally wrong (in fact I'm even for forbidding anyone from under a certain age range from having sex because of the consequences it can have, even if their partner have the same age) but a 18 year old dating a 28 year old isn't, both are adults who have finished their basic education and are fully responsible of themselves.

@meinburn it's more excusable when both are adults, since they both likely know better by that point- but it's still kinda creepy and not without complications. Dating someone that could potentially be their daughter or son, for an example, is bound to have a large difference in maturity levels and life experience- it's hard to say someone with vastly more life experience isn't taking advantage of the other in some ways, intentionally or not. Taking advantage of their physical youth, taking advantage of their inexperience, taking advantage of their place in life.

An example- An older woman who has a house, plenty of money and security, being in a relationship with a kid half her age who has nothing but a high school diploma, the clothes on their back, when they moved in with her. How is that NOT taking advantage of the kid in several ways, whether she intended to or not. Heck, I don't see how that wouldn't stunt the kid's growth as a person or how she wouldn't directly control their life in several ways, again, intended or not. The creepy part comes from things like being an adult before the other person even existed- or while they were in the crib- there's a reason cradle-robber is a term and has a lot of stigma attached to it.

The gap grows wider as you get older for what is commonly considered fine, and not all things are absolutes when it comes to love and relationships- like it can work out, sure. Maybe the older person is very immature and in a similar life situation and the couple grows together, it can happen- but in most cases it's just a bad idea. Not to mention the problems that will occur later in life when the older person in the relationship starts suffering the problems that come with old age long before the other person (and likely dies long before the other, leaving them alone).

A teacher dating a kid? No. That's never alright. If you're in primary/middle/high school you're still a kid. Heck, even most people that graduate still have the maturity of a child. People just look at it as a number, but there are more factors than age. I find it bewildering that so many people either can't see these things as problems or willfully ignore it. What's the defense for a "high school" teacher dating one of their students? Because someone thinks it's hot? It's a work of fiction so who cares? It's ironic I see someone here mentioning Nazis, cause ya know, that's exactly what happened when people just ignored things that were morally wrong.
