I could see this happening in the future. I could also see robots taking over so many jobs, that jobs for humans actually become obsolete, and most humans aren't expected to work.

@arcsalvo That's actually a problem with automation that we're currently in the process of evaluating... and dreading.
There's a good video about it by CGPGrey, called "Humans need not apply". It adresses the automation-problem that's endangering human workforce. It posits that we are steadily approaching a point in time when more than 20-40% of people will be unemployed, simply because no jobs are left.
Logistics industry, for example, is currently a really big source of employment. (Goods need to be transported, after all.)
This industry might take a massive hit once self-driving trucks are established, because those trucks can drive 24/7, whereas regular humans are limited to 8-12 hours a day, depending on where you live. [Different countries have different regulations.]

This feels like a economical, social rights and moral nightmare. Also Robots ≠ Androids, but even then it's dicey, but mostly semantics to the mass population. Robot means "Forced Labor" for a reason.

@Voij One of the proposed means of dealing with this issue would be a robot tax aka having to pay the robot a similar if not the same "wage" you'd pay a human worker in the role to the government which would then be used to fund a universal basic income for those left unemployed by said robots. Of course that presents its own massive list of issues but that's why automation is so scary.
