So I don't have a problem with group delay policies, honestly, if you want them, I guess that's fine. I don't really understand the concept behind them, because why would you push people to your website when mangadex hosting is free and so much simpler for the end user, but sure, it's your content after all...
But 9 days?
Come on, guys.
Even I feel a bit cheated by this.

And don't give me that "then just don't read it" crap.
It just feels kinda cheap, you know?
Anyway, rant over, thanks for the chapter.

The running joke of the good tsukumogami attacking hyouma along with the enemy constantly is kind of annoying

@Allexio it drives traffic to the scanlation team's site which, if you're not using an adblocker, allows them to cover the costs for the website itself as well as purchase the physical manga to be scanned in the first place.

I see this kind of complaint often, and frankly it represents a pretty childish view of the whole scanlation system. These groups put a lot of their personal time, money, and effort into the work they do for little to no return. You shouldn't feel "cheated" by anything - you're getting to read manga that you otherwise wouldn't be able to, FOR FREE, thanks to their efforts. Just remember that for every single page of every single chapter of manga you read, a scanlation group has to remove the original text, clean the image, translate the text, and typeset it back onto the page. It's a lot of work.

I don't know where you're at in life, like whether you're a working adult or not, but try to realize that these are people who spend their own free time and passion to provide you with a free service. The least you can do in return is to be a little bit thankful and support their policy decisions.

Whenever I read this, I always seem to focus on how cute Botan's haircut is. So cute.

@Ampharoaster
I think your whole comment is besides the point.
First off, if you looked at my profile (or even the colour of my name, come on man) you'd see I am a scanlator myself, even if I haven't worked on that many chapters.
I do however know how much time it takes, and yes, I do it for free and without a website.

Also, if you'd read what I wrote you would see how ridiculous your argument that they need to raise money on a website for the upkeep costs of that same website that they don't even need in the first place is.

I'll support "policy decisions" that make sense.
I use mangadex because it's free, well maintained and because it has a responsive and active management team. I don't see any benefit in having a dedicated website.
Maybe in the past, but not anymore.

I'm not even going to go into the details of your comment which is frankly quite heavily insinuating that I am some kind of leecher.

@Allexio I'll admit, I was quite surprised to see that you're a scanlator, regardless of the scale. Although I haven't read the series you worked on, I'd like to thank you for your contributions.

That aside, I still stand by my original comments. Jaimini's Box (the group whose policy you disliked) operates on a much larger scale, translating multiple contemporary (and popular) series that require weekly purchases on their part. While having an independent website might not make sense for you, it obviously does for them and the size at which they operate, which additionally serves as an archive of their work. If they only put their work directly onto MangaDex, they receive NO compensation to cover their regular expenses, which would exist whether they had their own site or not.

The reason why I still think your stance is immature is because it boils down to not understanding the value of labor and their following decisions. You asked why they would push people to their perfectly functional site, and I gave you the answer. You still feel "cheated" regardless, because clicking on a link or waiting 9 days is too much to handle. On top of that, "just not reading it" apparently isn't a viable option?
You obviously feel entitled to their work, maybe even moreso because you've done a scanlation project for free. But when you go on a rant about how it's easier for you to put your own series on MangaDex and ask why they don't do the same, it ends up looking like amateur hour
