This chapter... rose a few levels in the degeneracy scale, and by a few... I mean a LOT.

The author came back with a vengeance.

Of all the returning characters that could be... the perv lactating centaur was not one I expected.

I don't remember when, but at some point, the level of "kinkiness" in this manga completely breached the ceiling, i think it was just a little after girls stopped being included in Darling's harem and we started to focus more on other girls with other guys.

By the way, does anyone know why this gets so few updates? I think this is still popular, and the author has a very... clear fanbase and he seems to like his work, so kinda confused why.

Does Okayado-sensei suffer from some health condition?
He has in the past. It stopped him from updating for like a year or so before.
Next update according to his X/Twitter is September 6th.
this manga has taken such a nosedive as the year pass, i completely forgot about it.
In fact all the "side character" story was far more interesting than the MC.

are the releases so slow because the group is taking forever to translate or because the manga comes out this slow?

I think the authors mental health was damaged a bit partly because they never made a season 2, but also partly because he didn't get as much credit as they deserved for starting the whole monster girl genre as a whole. (It did exist before them, but wasn't really talked about or acknowledged as a genre before they made the series.

Lastly another reason for the lapse in time, is the author has tired monetize the series in a few different ways in the past; that either never really took off or didn't generate enough income. And I believe the main reason they still keep producing the manga, is because the volumes still keep selling but in small amounts and they keep trying to monetize the series. An example would be the recent mobile game just released, although I don't think it's doing very well.

I have also heard that they keep trying approaching animation companies every new volume release, for a potential second season. But since it's been so many years since the first, the series now lack proper name recognition more over public interest.
I haven't got an idea of why the second season was originally cancelled despite it being teased, but I believe it was delayed due to a web game release, but the web game failed and the animation company backed out due to the failure said game. As it basically said to them that if the game failed then there is no interest in the product.

Something else to note is that the series never really rose in levels of lewdness, it was always at this point as it stared out as a series of 12ish lewd comic strips.

(edit) here is the pre serialisation comics they were just uploaded 4 days ago. So basically after this comment lol

Wow... that is a series of unfortunate facts.

Thanks for the info, that certainly paints a solid picture of what may happen behind the scenes.

Hope Okayado-sensei bounces back.

Who know, it seems at the very least that the recent mobile game has inspired them a bit to continue production.
But I can't imagine them being able to keep the series going for to much longer, I mean the entire original premise was that he would probably end up marring one of them. Even if it is the harem cop out ending, I can't imagine them being able to keep expanding the story for much longer especially since its been going since 2012 or maybe 2010-11 if you count the original comics the series is based on. If you count the original thoughts that went into those comics, they could have been working on this series in their head since they were a teen.

Thanks for the chapter!
I mean there are legal services in Japan that specialise in breast milk services within the industry, so I guess that where the inspiration is from…?

Hey, what is the release timing of this manga?
Not rushing things, but it just feel like the answer is "Whenever I damn well feel like it."

A protagonist with one of the most forgetful name. They said his name once or twice and I still don't remember it

I want to see more of the mummy girl! The one thing lacking in Kimihito's harem is a hot dark-skinned monstergirl!

I'd say same, but I acutely prefer Monster Girl Doctor, due to the ways in which it looks at monster girls from a biological stand point. Although that series hasn't had a new chapter since the anime and might as well be cancelled. Although we might see new chapters one day, if that author can also get over their depression.
But I would have to say that this series is the originator of the trend and genre, so massive props to it.

Always good to see our bi-yearly chapter of Monster Musume make a return. Curious to see who the other culprit will be and if she's also related to the previous girls targeting the MC since the milky centaur was.
Wait which chapter was that? Honestly been so damn long I forgot

Damn, thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why this manga is still going and reading all your comments and koga88's comment made me sympathize with the author.

I knew the author/artist had troubles getting the anime version of this series greenlit for further seasons, but I wasn't aware that he had such significant issues in other facets of his life, too.

When it comes down to it, the actual plot of Monmosu is pretty straightforward and simplistic, possibly being summed up as: "Unremarkable and somewhat boring MC man finds himself contending with an unintentional and ever-expanding harem of attractive and (varying degrees of) possessive monster girls, as he goes through life trying to adapt to the wackiness of his situation as best as he can." This formula is not unique, but it is usually successful when implemented correctly. However, I believe Okayado kind of hamstrung himself when he put in the plot point that Kimihito is now required at some point to marry one of of the girls. It's possible that at the time he had an ending brewing in the background, but decided to put it off as the first anime season was released--hoping to extend the anime seasons accordingly. This hasn't come to pass unfortunately, and I wonder if there would even be enough interest in producing another season since so much time has gone by since the first. As more and more time passed in the manga, and the MC kept getting introduced to more and more potential romantic interests, the idea of him spontaneously marrying one of them has become difficult to justify imo, since Kimihito was effectively spending less and less time with each individual girl. Beyond that, how long are these thirst machines going to wait for him to make up his mind? None of them, not even Centorea, seem willing to follow any kind of courting honor, per sé, and readily take opportunities to get with him when they can. I used to believe that Kimihito was destined to end up with Mia, but that possibility is getting pretty muddled. We already know who he is fated to be with in the Afterlife, though I doubt there would be any series devoted to the details of that story.

I really hope that it doesn't get cancelled like his other monster girl title I used to follow, 12-Beast.

For those talking about an increased level of degeneracy in this series lately, I mean, it's always been pretty raunchy, depending on the story arc. Remember the arc that involved the different tribes of Lamia, all having explicit contests to determine whether their people would change their kidnapping ways as a means to obtain breeding stock? Or howabout the story when Suu's Dryad friend Ki went nuts because of the pollution in her forest territory, resulting in Kimihito having to literally suck the...well, you get my point. Just some thoughts.
