Aight, there are some major plot holes with this race building.

1. If their supposed to be a race built off of strong warriors, wouldn’t they been similar to Mongolians? I mean, they were very well know for their horse riding and military skills. So I’d expect them to be more like Mongolians since their a military race. And, most female animals decided on mating with strongest males, but not most males are violent ugly bastards. It just seems that the author just amplified the males masculinity beyond what it would actually be.

2. How the fuck would the birth rate go down!? Like, the only difference I can see happening is the males average strength going down. And even their behavior. Birth rate has nothing to do with this at all! I can see why, because the author wanted to use the term teaser in this. But, all it did was create to large plot holes.

All of this is pretty explainable.
1) this comparison doesn't make sense just because of horseback riding warriors. I mean, in their world it's shown they prefer jousting of all things. I don't see how it's a hole in a plot that they aren't related too much to our human history, especially considering they literally come from another world with completely alien societies and cultures. (I mean this is pretty much why the manga centers around a host family program!)
2) the "uglyness" you see is probably just from your and the latest generation of centaur women's perspective. If these 'ugly' bastards hadn't been the norm then they wouldn't be so gung-ho about their tradition enough to get "teaser" mates. It's pretty clearly shown that this change in sexual taste is the cause of a falling birthrate, and I'm not saying you are clueless about biology but you're pretty clueless about biology if you seriously don't understand how a selective breeding process usurping the previously established mating practices would 10 times out of 10 drive birth rates  down as now most males are seen as undesirable. This isn't a pot hole either so I'm not sure what you're talking about lol
