I heard this is getting an anime adaptation?
Hopefully the series isn't over because I'm really enjoying the plot. Like the previous comments, it's basically Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou but with an "actual" story and harem ladies who actually do something rather than fawn over the MC.

This is top tier. Compared to the original, i like this way better, especially with the fantasy setting instead of the mordern one. I wonder if mc of the original is the descendant of this guy, would explain why all the non-human girls like him.

The anime is Ok the animation needs work though but it doesn’t really matter as long as the story is there and you see cute monster girls doing sexy moans.

My only problem is how they cut things like there was a scene where he was talking to snake girl and it focused on his face he stopped talking for like maybe 1 sec and jumped to the door knocked and for some reason it went back to his face stairing blankly at nothing for another second then jump back to the door to open.

Like why do you have to show his blank face for 1 sec in between the door knocking and opening the door I mean if he reacted and said wait a min then yeah but he said those at the door opening and not in that 1 sec blank face frame. At that point I kept noticing the weird cuts.

This kind of things are a lot more noticeable with anime that has mostly dialogue I do like how they did the snake tail though maybe thats where all the budget went.

Oh my god this compared to the original is 100x better. It has actual plot and mc has a harem of girls who like him, however this manga mainly focuses on the two and it clearly shows that glen only likes snake girl and no one else. Its a really wholesome romance compared to the original manga where there is no plot and its just borderline hentai. This has actual world building and good plot, heck mc and fmc even have history as childhood friends🥵

I'll point out that the anime produced for this is barebone and cheap. This is due to the fact that it's produced by Arvo Animation which is basically an indie Anime studio (as in Indie game development studio). It's a company with only 10 employees and with a worth (equity) of only 3M yen (approx. 28K USD).
To give an idea, that studio has only produced 1 series prior (Bokutachi wa Benkyō ga Dekinai) and this style is completely out of their current set of skills. You can see they are using, partially, some other studios' "tricks", but fails at expressing the same kind of feel and aura as the manga. (They also change a LOT of details that makes the manga unique for the sake of cheapening the animation cost.)

Do you ever consume a piece of media that is so specific to your tastes that you think you're the only target audience

@donoghu | The fact that they made the animation seem a lot more smooth compared to adaptations such as Arifureta, the Seven Deadly Sins S3, Maou-sama Retry is still a plus especially for an Indie company/studio like that. I mean ya gotta at least give'em props for that, even the seiyuus are pretty decent at acting/voicing the characters.

So far the animation quality is pretty consistent though I don't exactly know how they'll deal with huge moving objects/creatures. I'm surprised their art is really vibrant & the only CGI I've seen so far is the horse girls' legs, adaptations are usually different from one another like for example: Web novels and Light novels, Web comics and Manga, Light novels and Manga, Manga & anime, so you really shouldn't try and say things like the manga is better cause those two are separate types of media, it's like you trying to compare a pan-toasted bread with a toaster-toasted bread: whether you like it or not the finished product will always be different

It's actually a shame that people comparing this with Monster Musume, while sure Monster Musume has better ecchi scene, I like this more.

Monster Musume no Oishasan actually had more depth in the girl's lifestyle and health issues. it took something from fantasy and processed it into a real health problem.

I rarely see a story about half-human fantasy race and explain how their body works.

while a lot of horny Weeb shit-talk this series because this is not as ecchi as the OG Monster Musume, which made me sad that weeb only able to fap to the characters instead of understanding their culture and how they live their life.

In short, I like this more than the "OG" since this had a lot more depth to the species.
