Yes, even me as the translator had issues understanding the scene, only until I read this scene in the novel did I understand 100%

Not your fault. The mayority of readers thought that they were in the mansion. Me included.

Towns without a single bystander in sight are pretty rare outside of the post apocalypse genre. The artist of this manga bit of more than he could chew, so visual cues are bad or non existent.

That kidnapping was also super predictable. I expected it to happen a chapter ago instead of the adventurer raid.
