I think Shagard made up his sleep with naps when he could when the training happened. It didn’t take all night iirc. Serena did make sure it wouldn’t affect Shagard badly though she was a bit airheaded about a few things as usual.

The training itself was split into like 3 phases. The first phase was forcing him to go up and down the mountain with a blindfold. With them watching over him. At first he go up the mountain without blindfold, then traverse all the way down with blindfold on. Once he got good enough he do both ways blindfolded.

After that is the second phase, he would do intensive training against Tigur who often tried to kill him in a half assed manner but seemed serious enough. With Serena occasionally attacking him by surprise or walking up to Shagard casually show she could kill him with ease. Teaching him that even passing by people could be secret assassins and easily kill him like she did. Or that assassins never truly fight one on one and usually attacked any openings they saw.

Then phase 3, Serena basically let the assassins attack Shagard during the night to have him get used to fighting them. Serena was being a bit lazy here but still kept an eye on him. Shagard also saw the assassin guild do their clean up work. Clean off blood stains, corpses, replace rugs and stuff etc. The quality of the assassins was like really low by this point iirc

Yes and no while yes and no.

Yes 1: Assassins are supposed to be observant and able to manipulate feelings which requires knowing such feelings.

No 1: However there's multiple different types of assassins for multiple different types of assassinations. What I wrote above is just one type of assassin.

Yes 2: She should have been trained enough to be able to blend in to her surroundings.

No 2: However it seems she's just the straight sneak in and kill type of assassin when you look at the pieces of her past life we get to see and how she's been assassinating people in this current life. She simply doesn't understand emotions period. You can't properly observe something you don't know about.


On another topic:
How much longer before this manga makes the cover art an reality? They have slowly but surely over the last few chapters introducing various Japanese and/or Asian influenced items to Serena. Author/Artist, if you wanted her to be Japanese this badly you should have just made her mom "a noble from the far east" and introduced this stuff naturally through her mom.

Sleep deprivation training perhaps. Stay concentrated even if the enemy harass and make you have to stay on watch for days.

How much longer before this manga makes the cover art a reality? They have slowly but surely over the last few chapters introducing various Japanese and/or Asian influenced items to Serena. Author/Artist, if you wanted her to be Japanese this badly you should have just made her mom "a noble from the far east" and introduced this stuff naturally through her mom.

At least volume 3 has her cosplaying as something more relevant to the story arc. Although with the Persian themed names, I’d rather see her cosplaying fetish Middle East costume for the cover
