It's the end of chapter, and there's no aftermath.A bit disappointed we didn’t really see what happened after she got to eat mud. It feels like it skips quite a bit of content or it likes going fast forward into the next plot point without much depth.
In the LN, this is where Serena and Rosemary finally time skips to 12 years old (so yes, she starts murdering people at much younger age).
Also, the LN skips detail about her murdering her target. There's a little thought not being sure about why she reached out to the boy. But the scene just skip to when she is giving job report to Rick. The LN actually skips a lot from scene to scene, so people who prefer getting all the minute details probably wouldn't be satisfied.
About the knight who died with her in the previous life... for better or worse, he's done. Serena still remember his words every now and then because she still can't understand why someone would throw their life for another person. She is a believer in "all man for himself". But until the end, he never show up in the story anymore. Even if he is reincarnated, the author say nothing about it, so he's as good as dead dead.Let me guess. It's the guy that killed her in previous life? It's it that predictable or now, will see. If someone is reading LN, please spoil it for me
About love interest...
Officially, there are two love interest in the LN version. One is Tigur, the boy she rescued. The other is Evan, the kingdom's first prince. But Serena is a protagonist, she got that curse we're already so familiar with, not realizing when someone love her.
Tigur loves her because she rescued and accepted him (should be in the next chapter). He gets worried when she's endangering herself, and gets annoyed when another man approach her, or being rude to her. Serena's father acknowledged his potential, and Bruce (the dog) remarked the "Monster" (Serena) smiles when around her servant, even if she probably didn't realize it. IMO, his position helps to tell parts that need outsider opinion rather than just Serena's internal monologue.
But the plot didn't get overhauled enough to make him integral part rather than attachment.
Evan is the only route in the WN, although Serena herself never realize she had anything special going. She only really snaps when Evan got gravely injured in an event, she is annoyed enough to go to the culprit and kill that woman with her own hand.
The WN ends with Serena and Evan kissing, but in the LN, Tigur sabotaged by telling her first that her feeling is the same as a kid who is upset because someone break her favourite toy, rather than a woman who is angry because the man she love is hurt. So the competition is still open.
