Sorry to burst your bubble... But the novel did provide a pretty clear picture on most spirits' gender later on in the story...
Angolmois, the spirit king is a male.
The great Spirit of Earth Terra is obviously female.
Windfield is the most androgynous spirit we've seen so far but she's very much female.

I've rarely found a first pass of a snipe is that great, I think I'll join you. Kirei tends to return once a sniper rolls around too. I do always appreciate Kirei's quality when I compare it.

I kinda doubt it's MTL, since there were some mistakes like saying "bye" instead of "buy", which an MTL would've gotten right, but yeah I'm gonna hold out a bit for a more proper TL for now.
