i know is a little late to comment about it, but isnt a lil concerning how all these people are letting a child watch these bloody and extremely violent battles. Specially this one where the way granpa killed the ogre was slow and somewhat cruel, it was like he was playing with the thing while cutting it.

Sure it could be bad, but similar it’s kinda similar to now (although it’s mostly through games). Plus dungeons have been around for many many years in the plot

Could be a sign of a change in mentality because Dungeons are just a thing now. Or just the trappings of a genre that evolved from streaming RPGs and other violent games and not making the last leap onto mapping what happens if liveleaks got real public.

Also, that isn't the traditional Randerosu/child backpack from Japan, so the communique isn't likely ment to it having been a child. That and the large bag of chips that was in it probably means it isn't actually a childs at all.

That and he has an OP sword, but just because his sword is good doesn't mean he won't show off proper technique. Still would have been more understandable if he tried to hit the tendons and the joints to control strength, but oh well.

Slicing and Stabbing are different.
This is especially true for straight edged blades (which grandpa is using). Now if grandpa was using a curved sword (scimitars, falchions, etc.) designed with cutting/slicing features (such as a serrated edge), that may be a different story. The katana is/was highly prized because it combined cutting and stabbing effectively into 1 blade.

She can go as moral support, and they could occasionally switch out since grandma mentioned advocating for female adventurers, she could show them that women can solo dungeons as well.

And you know them supporting each other might be cute or something, that's definitely not my true desire for wanting to see them go in together or anything, totally not.

oh for sure. I’m not saying she can’t take part, just that the ogre had to be a solo pure strategy fighter for grandpa.

for what comes next, some tag teaming or swapping out for fights could certainly work. I’m leaning towards switching out since grandpa said that people used to go in solo and those seem to be the strategies he’s focusing on here

The idea about a dungeon in general fiction is that everything that comes within it MUST be killed. Yes it is bloody, but with material drops here and there? It can't be anything but a game.
Also, you simply can't one-shot the ogre given the big gap of their physical strength and defense,

Simple difference in culture, dungeons are too ingrained in their society, also you can call it torture but the fact is, those monsters will readily kill any human, child, elderly, doesn't matter, and they won't do it out of just hunger or defense, it is their nature to go on offense without any additional reason, and pray that you die if you are defeated, because I bet they don't care if you are still alive when they start eating you. If "Torture" is what you have to do to kill them safely in solo, then whoever is in the position for any reason must throw away this morality and fight for their life with any cruelty and dirty tricks they can
