Without reading ahead (and thus without spoiling anything), at this point in the story the nobility still looks much more outrageous than both the royalty and the clergy combined.

After all, in the very first chapter the local viscount Raedlich ordered Aix to make a hundred of unique magic tools and literally threatened him with a death penalty for an attempt to disobey that order — and never mentioned any payment for that work.

It's a relatively good thing that Aix is still tired and thus not able to feel any anger even remotely corresponding to his position of being wronged by the authorities. Otherwise he'd just one-shot both the Grand Chamberlain and the princess (when they visit him) and then would happily wait for the executioner because that would mean a very good opportunity to end his suffering and teach this world a lesson at the same time.

Princess over here making a valid point rarely seen in media, just ask the person themselves and you'll probably get the answer, so often people just assume the worst and believe the person in question will lie to them when the whole problem would be solved immediately if they just walked up to them and asked. Also they have a legit reason to ask here.
