Because if it was revealed or explained earlier there would be no mystery, dipshit.
Most of the story has been Aoi and Minazuki trying to piece together Sakura's actions. We are meant to be as in the dark as them.
We knew she was suicidal in the other side of this story. We knew why she latched on to Yume, why she wanted Minazukis body specifically and now we have a backstory explaining how she got to this point.
Her history ties into the ideas of being able to see again, of being used, and discarded at the convienience of others
