Definitely seems like alit more lately but it's fine with be since I live these types of stories. Even though most are trash , it's a fun guilty pleasure I enjoy reading

If the girl didn't like MC at first, it would've been more interesting. The whole "he gave me a handkerchief when I was a child, he's so gentle I wuv him" is a stupid trope that can't die soon enough.
Her test is bullshit, too, why was there a need to parry a buffed attack? Not only that, if she somehow ended up hurting him, she would probably be in deep trouble, too.

Maybe one day, those slop-isekai writers will learn that you need development, goals, and challenges, to make a good story, even more so in a romance, unless it's more of a slow-like kind of story.

So, the girl was actually in love with the previous version of the apparently evil dude because he gave her a handkerchief... some time ago? He can't have been that evil in the past then. Also were they like ten? I DON'T GET THE TIMELINE. THEY LOOK TOO FUCKING OLD TO BE THIRTEEN.

Is the handkerchief scene something the MC did or something from the character's memories? HE said "I should have asked her name." But if it's something the MC did is there some random ass time skip.

This shit is so confusing.

From what I can tell he is having this engagement meeting the same day as he got isekai'd. So where the hell are the memories coming from?

A.) Harold wasn't actually trash until something happened 3 years ago (according to the girl's private monologue) which is explained a bit later on. (Short Answer: His parents suck and should be thrown into an incinerator for being trash)
B.) Harold remembered his past life as Haru. Haru didn't "reincarnate" as it were. Haru was already preloaded Harold just remembers Haru now (and Haru took over as the main personality)

(this one you only learn from the light novel)
C.) Harold actually gave the handkerchief to someone he thought was a boy so he won't easily put two and two together about Alex being in love with him. (After all gotta have some denseness and misunderstanding in a rom-com)

Found out a difference to the novel that's actually pretty important. She didn't actually do this "test of strength" thing in the novel she was actually quite content with his behavior of saying that he was going to be a man worthy of her. The fact that she's super strong was supposed to be found out a bit later when she starts helping him train. (and steam rolls him with her strength XD)

Yes there has been. Its already at the point there is a spin off trope of this type of series. The whole I know the story so plan around it had a flaw of if they shift events they no longer know so they lose the whole I know things plot point. So we are seeing series where they now try to avoid changing the story, which is further used to make the MC even more beta. Like the one where the MC worships Yuri so refuse to get any of the girls. Or there is another where the MC is not the protag, so he hides his abilities to not break events and tries to get cucked because how dare he be a bad fan who ruins the story.
So yeah its already over done. That said I don't mind the setting of they are aware of the story, but they just come down to are the characters good.
